Delta TechOps (NDT) engine MRO team was recognized at the Air Transport Association (ATA) Nondestructive Testing forum in Seattle for their work in Phased Array Inspection of Scribe Lines to investigate the use of Phased Array Ultrasonics as a method of examining the fuselage lap splice without damaging aircraft paint.

2006 FAA-ATA Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) “Better Way” Award
The Non-Destructive Testing engine MRO team of Delta TechOps was recognized at the Air Transport Association (ATA) Nondestructive Testing forum for their efforts in the Destructive Characterization and Extended Fatigue Testing of a Retired Passenger Commercial Aircraft. This research enabled calibration and validation of predictive methodologies for structural fatigue. This research also serves as a platform to evaluate the sensitivity and effectiveness of standard and emerging NDI to identify small cracks concealed in built-up structural joints.
