ATLANTA, April 7, 2015— Delta TechOps, the maintenance division of Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) and North America’s largest Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul provider, has once again expanded its relationship with Sun Country Airlines of St. Paul, Minn. Under a new agreement, Delta TechOps will extend its auxiliary power unit (APU) partnership with Sun Country for an additional five-year term.
As Sun Country Airlines’ exclusive APU partner, Delta TechOps will provide maintenance on the GTCP 131-9B APUs for Sun Country’s fleet of 21 Boeing 737 aircraft. The agreement, which extends into 2019, continues to solidify a working partnership that began in 2001. This contract follows Sun Country’s recent 3-year exclusive agreement with Delta TechOps for their 737 landing gear overhauls with exchange gears.
“Delta TechOps provides a unique value proposition that combines world-class service, efficiency and flexibility with industry-leading pricing and turnaround,” said Jack Arehart, President of MRO Services. “Together, we’re able to offer tremendous value to customers like Sun Country, and we look forward to continuing to build on that longstanding relationship.”
“Selecting Delta TechOps as our APU maintenance partner was a natural choice for Sun Country Airlines, given Delta’s proven expertise, customized solutions and familiarity with our fleet,” said Tony Kubit, Director of Engineering at Sun Country Airlines. “We look forward to continuing to work together now and in the future.”
