ATLANTA, June 18, 2008 – Delta TechOps’ Component Maintenance division recently achieved ISO 9001 certification, joining a small, elite club of airline MRO service providers to achieve this designation. The certification includes items such as composite repairs, flight controls to instruments and engine components.
“Once again, TechOps proves it is an MRO industry leader in its processes and thinking,” Tony Charaf, president of Delta TechOps, said. “This tremendous achievement was made possible by the hard work and dedication of the employees of Component Maintenance and I am proud to work with such a fine group of people.”
Delta TechOps’ Component Maintenance Shops repair and service more than 5,600 different aircraft and engine components, turning more than 193,000 parts each year for Delta and other air carriers and maintenance facilities.
The ISO 9001 standard specifies processes and procedures an organization must follow to maintain consistently high levels of quality. The certification is recognized in 157 countries, and has a proven track record of leading companies to enhanced operations and improved performance and quality.
“Throughout the years, safety and compliance have become ingrained into our business culture,” said Allan McClure, Delta TechOps’ Component ISO Coordinator. “To maintain the ISO 9001 level of quality, we must continue to improve our internal business structure while measuring and improving our customer service. We want to be sure we are meeting or exceeding the expectations of our customers through cost, turn times and reliability.”
