MSP TechOps completes first MRO work since merger

April 15, 2011—This week, Delta TechOps employees based in Minneapolis/St. Paul completed their first maintenance, repair, and overhaul customer’s (MRO) A-check since receiving their Part 145 Repair Station Certification from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration in January.

The Part 145 Repair Station Certification gives the facility the green light to begin handling MRO work for Delta TechOps’ customers. An A-check is usually completed every 500-800 flight hours and requires approximately 48 hours of downtime.

“The men and women in Technical Operations in MSP did an outstanding job with this first customer opportunity,” said Tony Charaf, president-Delta TechOps. “MSP will continue to be a key part of our MRO strategy going forward and we’ll continue to look for opportunities to leverage our people’s skills as well as our facility as it makes the most sense for our customers.”

The check was completed for a North American Airlines plane. Delta TechOps performs maintenance on North American’s 757 and 767 fleets.
